Axial length measurement in pseudophakic patients -

2 peaks occur in some cases

The measurement of pseudophakic patients is problematic with ultrasonic biometers, if not indeed impossible in some cases.

Optical biometery allows the easy, problem-free performance of these measurements.

All you have to do is select the appropriate mode in the menu and conduct the measurement in the same way as for phakic eyes.

2 peaks can occur (see illustration) in strongly reflecting intraocular lenses (e.g. the Acrysof). The first is the a reflection from the IOL, while the second indicates the correct axial length. In these cases the measurements must be corrected manually.
